Roman Kopin | the Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug CommentsChukotka is a remote but promising regionAt all kinds of events, they often ask the question, “What does one need to do to have an interesting, convenient and healthy life in the Arctic?”. In my view, the answer is obvious. First and foremost, you need to provide people with fuel and heat, thus, it requires an affordable tariff. I don’t think there is anything to say about the heating part. Chukotka is located entirely in the Arctic, the average annual temperature is 14 degrees below zero, that is, without exaggeration, extreme weather conditions. Secondly, it is necessary to solve the issue of logistics. People need everyday consumer goods: food, clothing, fuel. Where do they come from, if they are not made on site? Of course, they are delivered from other parts of the country.
